Fragment Friday - The Bragging Edition

Bruno discovers sticks.
1. My poem "Last Thoughts Before Drinking From The River Lethe" won first place in the Wyoming Writers 2014 Contest for Free Verse. My poem "Lies We Tell Our Children" took 3rd place, and "Best Friends" took an Honorable Mention. My short story "In The Shadow Of Xerxes Canal took an Honorable Mention in the Short Story category. All in all a good showing if I do say so myself.

2. My garden is springing up all over! Lots of new growth. Carrots and beets and zucchini, oh my! So two weeks into it and I haven't managed to kill anything off yet with my brown thumb. Here's hoping...

3.  Had a great time at the Wyoming Writers Inc Conference in Sheridan, WY last weekend. Got to hang out with my fellow Bearlodge Writers, listen to agents and editors give advice about the craft, drink beer, do an open mic reading of poems, drink wine, stay up late talking about the day, and did I mention hanging out with fellow writers from all over Wyoming? A good time was had by all.

4.  Youngest son went garage sale-ing and found someone selling yarn. He texted me to make sure it was an okay brand, and then promptly bought me 10 balls of cotton yarn. What a good kid - Feeding my obsession.

5.  Right now I'm on a super secret mission I'll tell you all about next week. It involves water and hot air, some back and forth, some up and down, different food and beer/wine. Maybe even some fiber-y goodness.

Congratulations on all those successes! Wow, you're inspiring....
Bruno is adorable. And your kid is awfully nice!

Thanks! Bruno is already bigger than when I took the picture. He's going to be a horse. Bigger sticks!
And yeah, how nice to supply his dear old mom with yarn - to knit him things! He has a scarf request in.

Carla - Thanks!
Anon - I'm thinking of delivering my autograph in person. Maybe with a bonus Corgi paw print.
