Fragment Friday

Bob the Poinsettia
1.  My seven year old poinsettia is blooming. It only missed Christmas by a week this year. Probably due to my faulty watering. I am so not a plant person. (Despite having kept this plant alive seven years)

2.  Saw the Hobbit last weekend. Now my obsession is finding patterns for some of the nifty handknits the dwarves were wearing. Dwarven Fingerless Mitts are on my horizon. BTW the movie was good, too. I loved visiting Middle Earth again.

3.  Nothing more disappointing than buying new music and finding it doesn't hold up to repeated listenings. I tend to listen to the same album for a length of time. Anyone have recommendations on some long playing albums that don't wear out their welcome?

4.  Plotting a trip to the Devils Tower area. Hopefully I'll find new inspiration for my printmaking series. It's kinda stalled out. What methods do you use to get back in the groove of artwork or writing?

5.  Making homemade bread and yogurt of late. Not so pleased with my foray into sourdough. Apparently Wyoming wild yeast is actually pretty tame. Or maybe it just needs more time to develop its bite.

Bob the poinsettia? My poinsettia is now jealous that it has no name and probably won't be here to see Valentine's Day!
We are heading to see The Hobbit tomorrow.
Two cds I can listen to over and over while I'm working: The Crystal Method, "Vegas" and The Propellerheads, "Decks and Drums and Rock and Roll"

Bob has been named since his first week. I didn't expect him to last out the month, but on he goes.

Scott actually has Vegas. Will give a listen.

Your poinsettia is celebrating Russian Christmas.

His real name is Vladimir.

That explains why he likes being watered with vodka...

You have vodka to spare after cooking?

ABE - Always buy extra - haven't you learned that yet?

Now I feel bad for tossing my nameless poinsetta in the compost bin the day after New Year's. Thanks. ;)

I clipped Bob back to about 4 inches once so don't feel too bad. I didn't expect him to survive his pruning. But he did. The minute he pulls another die off it's the trash bin for him, though.
