Fractured
by Constance Bewer

If I shatter
into enough
pieces
will my life
still be
semi-cohesive,
a broken
windshield
held
together
by fine wire?
Fate
is sticky
that way.

I think so - I like that fine wire image. Life is sticky that way!

Your quote of the day is fine, too!

Mmmmm - a compelling image and question. And a universal one, too, I think. I like poetry that touches on those universal questions.

Thank you!

Were you born with safety glass,or without, that is the question.

Pauline - The voices help me write. :)

Hedwyg - Thanks! Universal questions provide tons of fodder for poetry...

Anon - Only thing I know for sure, it that I was born with a pesky brother.

The final three lines are perfect - as is the poem, itself. Enjoyed it!

Thanks, tumblewords, glad you liked it. :)

I think there's maybe a question about whether the fine wire will hold for long enough to allow healing or will it itself then collapse. Very thought provoking poem.

crafty green poet- That's pretty much the question, isn't it. :)Never know where an article on windshield technology wil lead you...
