Fragment Friday - Post Thanksgiving Edition

Duckling
1. Turkey Tech Support - just one of the services I offered Thursday, for my kids. Youngest son and family did their first ever turkey for Thanksgiving and between phone calls, text messages, and pictures, we got it done. It doesn't seem that long ago when I was calling my mom for cooking advice.

2. Had no urge whatsoever to get up at O'Dark-Thirty and go Black Friday shopping. Whatever I need, the Internet shall provide - from the safety and comfort of my living room.

3. The Corgis definitely liked the duck. They got scraps and thought it grand. They don't beg, but they do sit close by and watch the food travel from your plate to your mouth.

4. Bracing myself for the onslaught of Christmas music. Will use my favorite antidote - punk rock. Do you have a Christmas song you can tolerate, err, enjoy more than the rest?

5. Still keeping up with the Poem A Day challenge. Looks like I'll have plenty of poems to edit in December. It seems out of 30+ poems I generally only want 3 - or consider them successful. Hey, ten percentish success rate is still okay by me - and I can rework the lesser poems into reconstituted poems, or just continue on with writing new poems. Writing is the goal.  How are your November goals looking?

I think your Thanksgiving menu sounded fantastic! Those corgis know when they see a good thing, too.
#4 - Bare Naked Ladies' holiday CD is a staple at our house. They cover Christmas, Hanukkah, and crass consumerism in one punkish swoop.

I think her menu sounded, and looked fantastic also!

Would just need a designated after dinner driver to get home.

Kathleen - I'm all for songs about crass commercialism. Bad enough the stores started playing Christmas carols the day after Thanksgiving. I may have to go grocery shopping with the Offspring blaring on my iPod...

Anon - I don't think you failed chemistry, but I could be wrong. If you want the REAL alcohol, come drink some of our microbrews. We even have homemade Kahlua.

Whisky apple pie! Now you're talking! Looks and sounds delicious.

I'm not much of a Christmas music person, but there are always one or two nights during the holiday season when a little egg nog and Jimmy Buffett's Christmas album go together so well. 'Course then he makes me want to go spend Christmas under a swaying palm tree instead of swaying firs. :)

The real Anonymous sez;

Send me a pie!
Make it a "double" please.

Real Anon - Would you like that pie 'on the rocks'?

Maybe I'll just make pumpkin for Christmas...

Split Pea Traveler - I can only take Christmas music in tiny doses right around Christmas. By then the stores have worn me out for music. I do have some Alison Crowe and Bruce Cockburn Christmas music I like. Very laid back.
