Fragment Friday
1. As I was petting one of the Corgis last night I tried to imagine life without them and couldn't. Which is scary, because dogs don't live as long as I think they should. Meanwhile, my mother's parrot outlived her and is going on 38 years - that we know of.
2. What's your favorite color and why? Have your color tastes changed over the years? I know I don't wear the all black of my college artist/philosophy major days anymore...
3. I like when there's snow on the ground, but the roads are clear. The plows in my city have been doing a decent job clearing the roads - except in my cul-de-sac which is at the bottom of the priority list. After a good storm you have to be careful not to high center the car. But it makes turning the corner cheap fun - controlled skid!
4. We've already had an Easter candy sighting here last week. What's next, 4th of July flags?
5. I'm knitting myself a new hat. Will it be finished before winter is over? It's in really thick yarn, so I have a shot despite the ADD knitting problem and the guilt over the half completed sock languishing on the needles. Stay tuned.

Was watching two adult eagles across the river this morning with the spotting scope.
I've been thinking about life after dogs a little lately because my Irish terrier is nearly 11 and she's exhibiting a lot of old dog traits, like standing in the middle of the hallway with a blank look on her face or snoring in the middle of the living room. It's endearing and poignant all at once.
Which makes the idea of Easter candy a nice distraction!
Choosing a favorite color is excruciating - cobalt blue, turquoise, deep orange, and magenta. I like strong colors that make a stand. No wishy-washy pastels for me.

I forgot you have eagles, too. All I've seen of late is a barn owl scouting my birdfeeder for lunch.
Kathleen, I dread the thought of mine getting old - they sure don't act like it yet.
I love cobalt and turquoise, but I also love different shades of brown.
Agreed that pastels are too wishy-washy.
Don't worry about Casey Pepper, he will have a home with me when he needs one. (I have parrot experience, not unlike experience with Anon...) I was just saying recently how I wish our fur friends could stay with us much longer, but I know it is their wish that when they go over the rainbow bridge, we bring another fur friend in to our lives - so many need homes. Purples and Greens for me, and apparently Valentines Day candy was out around Christmas, so it makes sense that Easter should be the holiday on the shelves now. SIGH.
Nonny - The bird doesn't even like me, so I wouldn't be a good home for it any how.
I've come to appreciate Purple now that I've gotten older. I'm still not a Green person, though.
I'm waiting for Halloween candy to come out on the Fourth of July...
