Fragment Friday

Beef. It's what was for dinner.
1.  Still poeming for Poem A Day. Not all the prompts inspire anything, so I'm just trying to jump off an idea- any idea - and get something written down. I'm finding judicious editing cures most problems. There is one I wrote that has a "What was I thinking?" vibe to it. It will be replaced.

2.  26,000 words in NaNoWriMo. I'm mostly where I should be, maybe a couple thousand words behind. I'm writing lots of dialogue- arguments and conversations that may or may not be relevant to the book, but my characters want to express themselves. Don't we all...

3.  I've been stuck in a loop listening to the Irish Rovers on my drive back and forth to work. Then I have the songs stuck in my head while I'm at work. Not a bad thing, just relentless Irish tunes. Do you run into any music like that?

4.  I was thinking of buying a rigid heddle loom to do weaving on. I already have a no-name rigid heddle loom I picked up on EBay a few years ago. "But it's too small" "The dent's the wrong size" "I don't know where to get parts for it". Can you think of other excuses why I need another fiber related toy?

5.  Feeling the urge to do my yearly (or so) reread of Lord of the Rings. Are there books you reread periodically? Anything I should be reading right now?

I reread the Lord of the Rings regularly, too, though not every year. And there are other books I keep rereading, all the way from War and Peace and The Brothers Karamassov to Kurtz' Deryni Fantasy series. Oh, and Song of Ice and Fire every time a new book comes out. ;-)

Irish Rovers are deadly brain worms!!! Beware!!! And... certainly you jest, OF COURSE YOU NEED A NEW LOOM! The winter is long and cold, and you must hoard supplies. Doesn't matter what kind, just do it! ;)

I never made it through A Song of Fire and Ice. I reread The Hobbit before the movie came out. Sort of wish I hadn't. Although it did help me remember all 13 dwarves names...

Nonny Moose - No kidding! Irish Rover infestation at work.
Thanks - I think I'll buy myself a new loom for my birthday. Of course then I'll have to spin more yarn, or buy more. And more.
Hope you're recovering nicely.?

Hey! Nice to see your writing and pictures again. I've been a little absent. The song "get back to blogging" has been playing around and around in my head. I'm gonna try... tonight. Hope all is well!

Congratulations on keeping up with NaNo so far!
Song of Ice and Fire hasn't finished yet, so nobody has made it all the way through :-)

Hey Lisa, Nice to 'see' you again! Looking forward to your blogging again, too. Things are well here as we head into a Wyoming winter.

Carla - NaNoing along. My characters tend to have 6000 word conversations. And I'm not even to the middle of the book yet.
I meant I couldn't even get through the first book of A Song Of Ice And Fire. Just not my cup of tea I guess.
