Fragment Friday

Devils Tower

1.  I was road tripping for work out by Devils Tower today. Are there places you visit over and over again and never get tired of?

2.  Finished a print for the latest Baren print exchange. This one is of two leaping impala for the Animals in Motion theme. Maybe I should have done Corgis, but they don't seem to catch the lift that impalas do, despite the ears.

3.  Took a break from editing poetry the past few weeks. Now when I go back to it it's amazing what things leap off the page - good and bad.

4.  The neighbors finally took their god-awful eyesore... err, Christmas decorations down. The block heaved a sigh of relief.

5.  Saw turkeys and deer and hawks and bald eagles on this road trip. The eagles were the only thing that didn't run (or fly) across the road in front of the truck. I'd hate to fill out the paperwork on a turkey-truck collision...

One of the nicest pics of DT I have ever seen!

Wish I could be on top, with power, radios and antennas!

That would take a really long extension cord! Bet the reception would be fantastic up there.

The two places I love to go over and over again are The Badlands (South Dakota version) and the North Shore of Lake Superior. The coast of northern California isn't bad either, but it's more difficult for me to get there. I love really desolate places. Hmm.

Kathleen - maybe you should be the one living in Wyoming...

Wow, great shots. I love the one of Missouri especially. I wish I could do landscape photography. What's the secret? I think I could visit Hawaii over and over. Again. Alaska, too. Sometimes that's my problem- I fall in love with a place and repeat visit so much that I don't get anywhere else!

My secret? Take lots and lots of pics. For each one I use there are ten more of the same shot in different shutter speeds and settings.

With Alaska and Hawaii you have enough ground to visit for many years without repeating yourself. :)

Where do you like to visit again and again?

Besides Devils Tower? The woods in Upstate New York, and Siena Italy.

Oh, and the Big Horn Mountains, must not forget them.
